Getting past "Confirm you're human"
It's a security check, not a ban. Here's how to pass it.
Stuck? Hand it to a recovery team and skip the guesswork.
We'll handle it for youMeta shows this screen when activity looks automated or a login looks unusual: a new device, a new country, many actions quickly, or a flagged IP address. You'll be asked for a phone number, an email code, a captcha or a video selfie.
Pass it the first time
- Switch to your usual Wi-Fi or mobile data and turn off any VPN.
- Use the phone you normally use for the account.
- Enter a phone number you control, preferably the one already on the account.
- For the selfie, follow the video selfie tips.
- Submit once and wait for the email.
When it loops
- Clear the app's cache, or reinstall it, and try once more from your usual network.
- Try the web version at instagram.com.
- If it says "We couldn't confirm it's you", the check failed and can turn into a suspension. Appeal with a short letter from AccountAppeals.
Never complete a "confirm you're human" page you reached from a DM or email link. Real checks only happen inside the app or on instagram.com.
UnbanPro has notes on the confirm-you're-human screen and takes over stuck cases.
Questions people ask
Why does Instagram keep asking me to confirm I'm human?
A VPN, a shared network, automation apps or rapid actions can keep triggering it. Remove those and try from your usual network.
Is my account suspended if I see this?
No. It's a check. It only becomes a suspension if the check fails.
